Moreover, the warm-up time was super quick and the coffee machine comes with 6 preset brew sizes. Not to forget, the taste of the coffee was heavenly. From crema to texture, everything was perfect!

Both the water tank and drip tray of this Nespresso Vertuo machine are removable, so cleaning it won’t be a hassle. However, keep in mind that the coffee maker does not come with any milk accessories. Yes, Vertuo Plus automatically turns off after 9 minutes of no use.

Honestly, we fell in love with its bold and classy design. Moreover, the machine comes in two designs; Breville and DeLonghi. Both types just have different machine heads, nothing else. You will get three color options in Nespresso Vertuo Plus; cherry red, grey, and white.

According to us, both machines are excellent in terms of design. But if you still want us to pick sides, our vote goes to Vertuo Plus. Despite being bulkier, it has an ergonomic design.

Coffee Pods Compatibility

Well, here is something you might find weird. Since Vertuo Plus and Vertuo Next are VertuoLine models, they are only compatible with Nespresso Vertuo capsules. Having that said, you can’t use any OriginalLine pods with these machines.

Similarly, these two Vertuo machines are not compatible with third-party compatible pods. This might be an inconvenience for some people because Vertuo capsules are more expensive than OriginalLine and third-party ones. Also, you will have very limited options for coffee flavors.

Machine Heat-Up Time

During our test, we found that the Nespresso Vertuo Next took approximately 25 seconds to heat up – which is sufficient and ideal.

However, Nespresso Vertuo Plus heats up in 15 to 20 seconds. So, I guess we have a clear winner here.

After that, you can control the machine with the help of the Nespresso app. You can brew your coffee and customize your brew sizes while sitting on your bed. Taste and Crema Texture

Now coming to the most important part; how are the coffee quality, taste, and crema texture of these two Vertuoline coffee makers? Don’t worry; we will end that curiosity for you!

Well, Nespresso Vertuo Next brewed delicious and perfectly blended coffee with thick crema on top. We fell in love with it after the first sip!

The coffee brewed with Vertuo Plus wasn’t less either. It was heavenly, textured, and balanced with the signature Nespresso crema on top!

However, we found the Nespresso Vertuo Plus coffee a bit hotter than Vertuo Next. Vertuo Plus also brewed sweeter coffee.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Like other coffee makers, Nespresso Vertuo Next and Plus also require regular cleaning and maintenance from your side. Luckily, both machines come with built-in descaling cycles; all you have to do is purchase the Nespresso descaling solution and descale the machines every 2 to 3 months. Apart from that, you will need to frequently clean and rinse the parts like the water tanks, drip trays, and capsule containers. We found both machines pretty easy to clean though.
